Jordan-EU trade balance deficit reached JD2.58b in 2022 — DoS

AMMAN — Jordan's trade balance deficit with countries of the European Union (EU) in 2022 reached JD2.58 billion, compared with JD2.54 billion in the same period of 2021, according to Department of Statistics (DoS) figures. 

The volume of national exports to EU countries last year totalled JD428 million, marking a 139 per cent increase, in comparison with JD179 million during 2021. 

The department's data revealed that imports from EU countries also increased by 10.8 per cent, reaching JD3.011 billion, compared with JD2.718 billion during 2021. 

The official figures also showed that the Netherlands was the top importer of Jordanian products, while Romania was the EU’s largest exporter to the Kingdom during the last year, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Wednesday.
