AMMAN — The 20th Jordan Economic Forum will kick off on March 20 with Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh overseeing the proceedings.
The forum is slated to focus on technology and the digital economy. The conference, which will take place over two days in the Dead Sea region, was organised by the Jordanian Forum for Democracy and Economy, the Al Aman Association for Financial and Banking Awareness and the Association of Banks in Jordan, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Tuesday.
According to the organisers, the conference is among the region’s most important economic events, with discussions helping to form a map for economists to build economic and investment plans.
The conference will address major economic challenges with a special emphasis on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Attendees will also discuss ways to incorporate blockchain technology in Arab economies.
The event will be attended by Central Bank of Jordan governor Adel Sharkas in addition to a number of prominent economic experts from Jordan and abroad.
