AMMAN — Jordan on Monday strongly condemned the “terrorist plots” targeting public order and the safety of people and property in Morocco, calling them an unacceptable attempt to undermine the country’s security, sovereignty, and stability.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Fouad Majali reaffirmed Jordan’s “absolute solidarity” with Morocco, expressing full support for all measures taken to safeguard its sovereignty, maintain stability, and protect its citizens, according to a ministry statement
Majali also reiterated Jordan’s firm rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism aimed at destabilising security.
Moroccan authorities announced they had foiled “advanced” terrorist plots targeting public order. Security agencies said that 10 suspects were arrested over alleged links to an affiliate of the Daesh group operating in the Sahel region.
According to the Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP), citing Morocco’s Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ), the suspects received logistical coordination and operational support from the group’s Sahel-based branch.
The statement added that special forces carried out simultaneous raids across the country following extensive surveillance and intelligence operations targeting the suspected cell.
