AMMAN — Jordan on Monday condemned in “strongest terms” the Iranian aggression against Qatar as a “blatant” violation of state sovereignty, international law and UN Charter and a dangerous escalation.
The Foreign Ministry expressed in a statement the Kingdom’s “absolute” solidarity with Qatar and full support for the steps it takes in confronting all threats to its security, stability, sovereignty and the safety of its citizens.”
The ministry’s spokesperson, Sufian Qudah, stressed the need for ending escalation, warning that its expansion would pose serious risks to regional and international peace and security.
The spokesperson also called on all parties to stop military action and return to negotiating table and dialogue to resolve the current “critical phase the region is going through”.
