AMMAN — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has “strongly” condemned the insults directed at Jordan during a recent gathering in Damascus.
In a statement on Sunday, the ministry emphasised the importance of holding those responsible accountable for their actions.
The ministry spokesperson Fouad Majali said that the Jordanian government had received assurances from the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirming that Syria rejects any offense against the the Kingdom.
He added that the Syrian government also promised to take legal action against the individuals involved, in violation of the law and in a “futile” attempt to harm the deep relations between the two brotherly countries.
