AMMAN — The Jordan Bar Association on Saturday announced a contribution worth JD100,000 to support Palestinians. The donation included medications and equipment for Al Makassed Hospital in Jerusalem, two military field hospitals in Ramallah and Gaza, and JD2,000 in cash assistance for the families of lawyers killed in Israeli attacks.

In a statement, the association called on the Permanent Office of the Arab Lawyers Union to hold an emergency meeting to discuss the Israeli attacks against Palestinians, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The association also formed a committee to communicate with lawyers in the West Bank to provide legal support for Palestinian families who face forced displacement in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood in occupied Jerusalem.

The association lauded His Majesty King Abdullah’s unceasing efforts towards the Palestinian cause and Palestinians. The association also called on the government to cut diplomatic ties with Israel.
