AMMAN — The Jordan Media Institute concluded a two-day training workshop for local radio stations on Monday, according to a statement released by the institute.
The training aimed to give seven local community radio stations the skills needed to prepare and produce high-quality, professional newscasts which focus on local news.
Conducted in partnership with UNESCO and the EU, the training focused on the practical skills needed to produce and present a radio news broadcast and the theoretical aspects of radio news, such as deciding which stories to prioritise, script writing, sound engineering and using sound techniques, the statement said.
The training is part of the “Capacity Building for Local Radios” plan, which hopes to benefit around 150 people involved in local radio throughout the Kingdom.
