AMMAN — Temperatures in the capital on Tuesday will reach 39°C, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said. The Kingdom on Monday began feeling the effects a hot and dry air mass, which are expected to continue for three days, JMD Director Muhammad Momani noted.

The heat wave is expected to gradually subside on Thursday, where temperatures in Amman will hit 35°C, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The JMD called on citizens to avoid direct exposure to sunlight and not to leave children alone in locked vehicles.

The JMD also advised people to wear light-coloured clothes and drink plenty of liquids.
