AMMAN — The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) and Qatar Charity on Thursday launched the 2020-2021 winter campaign “Warmth and Peace” to support underprivileged families and Syrian refugees across the Kingdom.

According to a JHCO statement, the campaign offers food, fuel, clothes and blanket vouchers to purchase from the local market in cooperation with civil charities and the National Aid Fund (NAF).

Assistant Secretary General of the JHCO Mohammed Nasser Al Kilani lauded the partnership with Qatar Charity, noting that a large number of projects have been implemented to support vulnerable families and refugees.

He highlighted that this year’s winter campaign has coincided with the impact of COVID-19 pandemic, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Director of Qatar Charity Office in Amman Munther Haj Hassan said that the campaign is dedicated to provide winter essentials, notably in five main fields: Food, shelter, health, education and non-food items, including winter clothes, blankets, heaters, heating fuel, as well as providing medicines and medical supplies besides sterilisers amid the peak of COVID-19 outbreak and seasonal diseases.

Haj Hassan praised the partnership with the JHCO, which supports Qatar Charity's efforts in various humanitarian fields, mainly easing procedures to reach the beneficiaries directly.
