AMMAN — The Jordanian Campaign, a strategic partner of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO), in coordination with the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate, on Saturday distributed tents to several journalists affected by the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.
In a statement, JHCO said that the initiative comes amid the difficult humanitarian conditions faced by Palestinian journalists, who continue to carry out their professional duties and report on the suffering of civilians despite losing their homes and enduring repeated displacement as a result of the war on Gaza.
It also said that the initiative falls within the humanitarian and relief programmes implemented by the Jordanian Campaign and JHCO, aimed at providing affected families with the minimum requirements for a dignified life, including media workers who face exceptional challenges while carrying out their professional and humanitarian responsibilities.
The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate commended the initiative, stressing the importance of supporting affected journalists and enabling them to continue covering events and conveying the truth despite the complex humanitarian and field conditions in the Gaza Strip.
Jordan runs two military field hospitals in Gaza, one in the Strip's north and was established in 2009 following the war in 2008, and the second is in Khan Younis in the south, which was established in November 2023 at the peak of the Israeli war of aggression on the coastal enclave that erupted on October 7, 2023.
Other humanitarian programmes include the land bridge for aid delivery, the mobile bakery, the Restoring Hope Initiative, which provides prosthetics for amputees, and the evacuation of critical cases to Jordanian hospitals.
JHCO also said it continue to implement a series of humanitarian and relief projects across various areas of the Gaza Strip to help alleviate the suffering of families affected and displaced by the war.
