AMMAN — The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) said on Thursday it had dispatched its fifth humanitarian relief convoy to Lebanon in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army and the World Food Programme (WFP).
The convoy, JHCO said, consisted 25 trucks that carried medicines, infant formula and food supplies as part of Jordan’s ongoing humanitarian efforts to support Lebanon, amid worsening humanitarian conditions.
According to a statement issued by the organization, the aid shipment included essential medical and food assistance aimed at supporting the healthcare sector, enhancing food security and meeting the needs of children and the families most affected by the crisis.
JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli said the continued dispatch of relief convoys reflects Jordan’s longstanding humanitarian commitment.
“Jordan, under its Hashemite leadership and with the support of its people, will remain present alongside its brothers and sisters during all circumstances,” Shibli said, adding that the convoys represent a sustained humanitarian effort based on rapid response and coordinated institutional work to ensure aid reaches the most vulnerable communities.
He added that the organisation continues to work closely with partners and relevant authorities to strengthen humanitarian response efforts and expand relief operations in line with field needs and humanitarian priorities.
The organisation expressed appreciation to the Syrian authorities for facilitating the passage of humanitarian convoys into Lebanon.
