JFDA inspects food outlets affected by power cuts

AMMAN — The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) said Wednesday it has carried out field visits to warehouses and shops selling cooled and frozen food items in areas that witnessed power cuts on Sunday and Monday.
The administration said in a statement that it carried out 446 field visits in Amman, Zarqa, Irbid and Karak, during which it suspended 36 institutions, closed down five and referred 15 to court, in addition to issuing 216 fines. The JFDA seized and destroyed 28 tonnes of food items during these visits.
