JFA backs PFA’s right to host home matches

AMMAN — The Jordan Football Association (JFA), headed by HRH Prince Ali, on Wednesday stressed its supportive stance on the Palestinian Football Association's (PFA) right to host their home matches on their land and among their fans. JFA, in a statement on its website, stressed its commitment to utilising all possible efforts to ensure PFA's rights. The JFA expressed pride that the Jordanian national team was the first team to play an international friendly match with the Palestinian national team on Palestinian soil in 2008. The Jordanian national team are also honoured to be one of the first teams to face its Palestinian counterparts in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers on September 10 in Palestine. The association is keen to promote the principles of sport in supporting peace and the development of nations and emphasises sport's importance in conveying the suffering of Palestinian sports. The JFA added that supporting the Palestinian team's right to play on their land and among their fans is the least the international sporting community can offer the Palestinian people.
