AMMAN — The volume of Iraqi investments in Jordan currently amounts to some JD23.4 billion, where the Iraqi Business Council (IBC) shares account for almost 60 per cent of the total value, Deputy Chairman of IBC in Jordan Saad Naji said on Sunday. Naji's remarks came during a meeting with members of the Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA) to discuss means to enhance future cooperation and key issues of concern to the business communities of both countries, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

JBA Secretary General Abdulrahim Biqai praised IBC's "important" role in developing and attracting Iraqi investments, stressing the association’s keenness to strengthen investment, trade and economic relations between the two countries. Naji said Jordanian-Iraqi economic relations have maintained their strength over the previous years despite all regional challenges, noting that Iraqi investors in Jordan receive many investment privileges under the Investment Law, in addition to a package of incentives and exemptions.
