AMMAN — Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA) Secretary Abdulrahim Biqai and acting chargé d'affaires at the Tunisian embassy Mohammed Bilhbeib on Tuesday discussed means to enhance economic, commercial and investment relations between the two countries.

Biqai stressed the importance of addressing obstacles to commercial and investment exchange between the two nations, and finding solutions to challenges through joint committees in coordination with the private sector, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

He also called for an action plan to be drawn with Tunisia, involving the establishment of a logistics zone in Aqaba for Tunisian investments, in order to increase access to both countries' commodities. For his part, Bilhbeib expressed the embassy's keenness to communicate and cooperate with the private sector, referring to preparations for the meeting of the joint higher committee scheduled to be held in the second quarter of the year.

The commercial exchange volume between Jordan and Tunisia in 2021 reached JD24.7 million. Jordanian exports to Tunisia constituted JD11 million of this figure.
