AMMAN — The Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA) and Greek Ambassador to Jordan Eleftheria Galathianaki held discussions on Thursday about strengthening economic relations and investment opportunities between the two countries.

JBA President Hamdi Tabbaa emphasised the business community's commitment to boosting investment in the Kingdom and improving Jordan's economic relations with various nations through joint business councils, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

He also called for joint work programmes and cooperation at the private sector level.

The JBA is set to hold an international conference for French-speaking business owners in May, he said, inviting the Greek business community to participate and explore investment opportunities in promising Jordanian sectors.

The Greek ambassador noted that trade between the two countries is still limited and urged efforts to enhance joint relations.

In 2021, trade exchanges between Jordan and Greece amounted to $79 million, with exports including copper, lead, fertilisers and vegetables.
