AMMAN — Japan’s Ambassador to Jordan Hidenao Yanagi announced on additional $1 million in funding for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to support the “Health Services in Northeast Jordan” project, which provides services to 121,000 Syrian refugees to access adequate healthcare services, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The ambassador voiced appreciation of the efforts exerted by the UNHCR in providing the Syrian refugees with medical services, pointing out that Japan is continuing to provide assistance to the UNHCR, with a total amount of $50 million between 2012 and 2017.
