Japan donates medical equipment to Irbid child care centre

AMMAN — Japan on Wednesday donated 4D ultrasound equipment and a bone densitometer to Al Farouq Society for Orphans Care in Irbid’s Palestinian Camp.

The equipment was part of a $50,635 grant to the society, made through the Japanese Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects, which aims to improve basic services by supporting local NGOs and governments, according to a Japanese embassy statement.

The ceremony was held under the patronage of Japan’s Chief of Mission to Jordan Masahiro Tada and Al Farouq Society for Orphans Care’s President Hussein Abu Dubai, the statement added.

The overall objective of the project is to improve the quality of medical services provided at the society’s centre by enabling advanced and accurate gynaecological examinations, as well as the diagnosis of foetal disorders and early detection of osteoporosis.
