AMMAN — The Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) on Wednesday dispatched medical and logistical supplies to its surgical stations in the West Bank cities of Ramallah and Jenin to ensure their continuous operation and enhance their capacity to provide medical care to Palestinians.
The supplies included specialised medicines, medical equipment, and logistical supplies aimed at bolstering the operational readiness of both stations and enabling medical personnel to efficiently handle various medical cases and provide treatment to patients, according to a JAF statement.
The initiative is part of JAF's ongoing humanitarian and medical efforts to support the Palestinian people, in line with Royal directives aimed at easing their suffering and supporting them under various circumstances.
The JAF continues to carry out its humanitarian and medical mission through its field hospitals and surgical stations in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, reflecting Jordan’s firm commitment to standing alongside the Palestinians and meeting their healthcare needs.
Jordan runs two military field hospitals in Gaza, one in the Strip's north and was established in 2009 following the war in 2008, and the second is in Khan Younis in the south, which was established in November 2023 at the peak of the Israeli war of aggression on the coastal enclave that erupted on October 7, 2023.
Besides the field hospitals in Gaza, the JAF established the Jordanian field hospital in Nablus in late November 2023.
Other humanitarian programmes include the land bridge for aid delivery, the mobile bakery, the Restoring Hope Initiative, which provides prosthetics for amputees, and the evacuation of critical cases to Jordanian hospitals.
