AMMAN — A 50-truck humanitarian aid convoy was dispatched to Gaza by the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) and the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) on Thursday.

The convoy, organised in cooperation with the World Food Programme and funded by donations from popular campaigns and various Jordanian institutions, included trucks laden with basic food parcels and rice, which will be distributed to Gaza residents through partner associations and organisations in the region.

Hussein Shibli, JHCO secretary-general, expressed the Kingdom's readiness to increase the number of convoys and trucks dispatched, highlighting the directives of His Majesty King to support the people of Gaza.

Jordan's priority since the beginning of the conflict in Gaza has been to increase humanitarian aid, he noted.

To date, a total of 2,270 trucks and 53 aircraft have entered Gaza via Al Arish.

The JHCO continues to accept cash donations through its bank account at Bank Al Etihad
