JAF foils infiltration, arms smuggling attempt at northern border

AMMAN — Northern Military Zone personnel on Tuesday at dawn thwarted an infiltration attempt to smuggle weapons and ammunition into the Kingdom, according to a Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) source.

Army personnel applied the rules of engagement followed in such cases, which resulted in the injury of one of the infiltrators, while others were apprehended in possession of weapons and ammunition, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The source added that the infiltrators and seized items were referred to the concerned authorities, stressing that the JAF will apply “full force” to protect the borders against any infiltration or smuggling attempts.
