AMMAN — The Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) on Wednesday evening conducted an urgent medical evacuation for Sergeant Nurse Sameer Hassan Mifleh Amarat, who was injured by shrapnel while carrying out humanitarian duties with the Jordanian field hospital team in southern Gaza.
The injured medic was transported by land to the King Hussein Medical Centre, where he is currently receiving specialised care under the supervision of a dedicated medical team, according to a JAF statement.
Brig. Gen. Sahem Gusus, a consultant in general surgery, said that the sergeant had arrived at the facility and was undergoing a full medical assessment, including laboratory and imaging tests. He noted that the patient had been admitted to the appropriate department for continued monitoring and treatment.
Gusus described the medic’s condition as moderate, emphasising that the evacuation was carried out to ensure he received appropriate medical care under the supervision of qualified professionals.
Since the beginning of the Israeli war on Gaza, Jordan has intensified its medical support to the Strip by deploying a second field hospital and specialised medical teams. Despite the challenging and dangerous conditions, these teams continue to provide life-saving care to wounded Palestinians in accordance with Royal directives, the statement said.
