JAF, agriculture, water ministers sign MoU to build water harvesting facilities

AMMAN — The Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) and the ministries of agriculture and water signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish hafirs and conduct maintenance on water harvesting facilities.
The memo aims to construct and conduct maintenance on water harvesting facilities and hafirs across the Kingdom, under technical supervision of the Water Ministry.
It is operated in cooperation with JAF to benefit from the expertise and heavy machinery of the army, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The agreement is in implementation of directives by His Majesty King Abdullah, Supreme Commander of JAF, to support national efforts in realising water security.
