Italian embassy in Amman announces activities for language week

AMMAN — The Italian embassy in Amman announced the return of “Italian Language Week” and unveiled a calendar of events in a statement released on Thursday.
The events will take place starting on October 15, and according to the statement, are scheduled in collaboration with The Dante Alighieri Society — Amman Committee, five Jordanian universities and the National Music Conservatory of Amman.
The flagship of the event will be a concert dedicated to the music of Italian composer Mario Castelnuovo Tedesco, on October 17 at the Al Hussein Cultural Centre, according to the statement.
The celebration will also include: seminars, meetings, readings, exhibitions, screenings, language workshops and competitions for students and round tables, which will be held in Amman, Madaba, Irbid, Mafraq and Zarqa.
Tastings of Italian gelato will also be offered by Jordanian women and Syrian refugees who are studying the art of ice cream as part of a project with the Princess Taghrid Institute for Development and Training in cooperation with the Italian NGO, Vento di Terra.
