Irbid exports up by 21.8% in Q1 of 2022

AMMAN — Irbid's exports in the first quarter of 2022 increased by 21.8 per cent compared with the same period of 2021. Irbid Chamber of Industry's (ICI) exports for the first four months of the current year amounted to $323 million compared with $265 million last year, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Head of ICI Hani Abu Hassan said Al Hassan Industrial Estate exported goods worth $297 million, while Cyber City's exports stood at $21 million. The textile and leather sector maintained a leading position in the sector-based exports with a value of $292 million, followed by the medical industries sector by $9 million and the foodstuff products by $8.7 million, he said. The US market was the biggest importer, accounting for $288 million worth of Irbid's exports, followed by Arab countries that imported ICI goods worth $24 million.
