Iraq’s security ‘crucial’ to region, says Lower House speaker

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi on Wednesday stressed the Kingdom's commitment to supporting Iraq's unity and stability. 

During a meeting with a delegation from Iraq's Kurdistan Parliament, Safadi also highlighted Jordan's ongoing support to Iraqi efforts to restore the country’s status and role in the region.  

Emphasising the importance of the Jordanian-Iraqi relationship, Safadi stressed that the security of both countries is interconnected, and that Iraq's stability is crucial to the region as a whole. 

Chairman of the Finance Committee of Iraq's Kurdistan Parliament Ziyad Jabbar, expressed his appreciation for the Kingdom's efforts to promote stability and security in the region, and praised Jordan's support to Iraq in times of difficulty, according to the Jordan news Agency, Petra.
