Investment minister, Kuwaiti ambassador discuss cooperation

AMMAN — The government is committed to increasing Kuwaiti investments in the Kingdom over the next period and strengthening partnership with the private sector at both the local and international levels, Investment Minister Kholoud Saqqaf said on Thursday.

Welcoming Kuwaiti Ambassador Aziz Dihani at the ministry, Saqqaf said that the government has implemented several economic reforms, including the introduction of the Investment Ministry, which is charged with administering investments and acting as a main reference for investment in the Kingdom, according to a ministry statement.

The minister also reviewed Jordan's prominent investment opportunities, such as high-value manufacturing industries, ICT, healthcare, tourism, real estate, mining, agriculture and logistics. She also highlighted the ministry's action plan for 2023 aimed at attracting more domestic and international investments and boosting existing investments.

Dihani said that Kuwaiti investments in Jordan are estimated at some JD13 billion, mainly in the finance, tourism, telecommunications, energy, real estate and infrastructure sectors.
