Int'l conference of internal medicine specialists kicks off

AMMAN — Under the patronage of HRH Princess Basma, the 16th international conference for the association of the internal medicine specialists at the Jordan Medical Association, which is organised by the association in cooperation with the British Royal College (Edinburgh), kicked off on Wednesday.
Deputising for Princess Basma, former minister Maha Ali inaugurated the event and stressed the importance of exchanging knowledge and expertise at the regional and international levels in the health sector, which is considered among the most important sectors in the world, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Ali said that Jordanian pharmaceutical industries account for 8 per cent of the total national exports, where national pharmaceuticals are exported to 65 countries, including the US, Europe, Gulf and some African countries. For his part, head of the association and conference Mohammed Ghneimat said that the association seeks to further develop this important medical specialisation, following up on scientific research and latest developments in the field.
