Interior minister meets with ICRC delegation in Amman

AMMAN — Interior Minister Salameh Hammad on Wednesday met with Jurg Montani, head of the International Committee of the Red Cross’ (ICRC) delegation in the Kingdom, and an accompanying delegation.
They discussed prospects of bilateral cooperation between Jordan and the ICRC, the progress of joint programmes and ways to support the ICRC in carrying out its humanitarian work, the Jordan News Agency, Petra reported.
The minister said that Jordan has close historical relations with the Red Cross Foundation and respects its humanitarian role, especially in helping the Kingdom receive and care for large numbers of refugees of various nationalities.
For his part, Montani praised the cooperation of all institutions and official agencies with the committee, as well as the Kingdom’s role in hosting large numbers of refugees.
