Interior minister meets Dutch envoy over bilateral ties, regional issues

AMMAN — Interior Minister Hussein Majali on Monday met with Dutch Ambassador to Jordan Paul van den IJssel and examined ways to further develop bilateral ties, especially at the security level.

The meeting also discussed the recent developments in the region, especially the Syrian crisis.

Majali said that overcoming economic, political and security challenges in the region and finding comprehensive political solutions to the conflicts in the neighbourhood are the first step to eliminate the sources of extremism, terrorism and takfiri ideology.

IJssel praised the key role Jordan plays in solving regional conflicts, calling for supporting the Kingdom to enable it to continue its positive pro-peace endeavours.
