AMMAN — Interior Minister Mazen Faraya and French Ambassador Alexis Le Cour Grandmaison on Sunday discussed recent regional developments and means of enhancing security cooperation.

During the meeting, Faraya called for an exchange of security expertise between the two countries to boost regional stability, combat crime, facilitate visits and conduct training and rehabilitation programmes in light of increasing instability in many neighbouring countries, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The minister said that Jordan and France enjoy "strong relations" in various fields, calling on the nations to utilise these ties to benefit both parties. The ambassador stressed Jordan's important role in maintaining regional stability and security, thanks to its leadership and policies and the Jordanian people's rejection of violence and extremism, pointing to the importance of increasing cooperation to serve shared interests.
