AMMAN — The Eastern Military Zone, in coordination with the Anti-Narcotics Department (AND), on Thursday, thwarted an infiltration attempt that included smuggling drugs from Syria into the Kingdom.
A source at the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army said that army personnel applied the rules of engagement followed in such cases, which led to the retreat of the involved people into Syrian territories, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Searching the area, army personnel found 187 palm-sized sheets of hashish that were transferred to the concerned authorities, the source noted, stressing that the zone personnel will deal “firmly” with any infiltration or smuggling attempt so as to protect the Kingdom and its citizens.
