AMMAN — Jerash Prosecutor General on Thursday ordered an individual detained for one week on charges of vandalism targeting one of Jerash’s ancient columns with graffiti.
Under the law, violators of the Antiquities Law shall face an imprisonment term of no less than a year and no more than three years and a fine no less than JD3,000, while as per the Penalty Code, penalty in case of violation of the Antiquities Law results in a three-month to three-year imprisonment and a fine of no less than JD100 and no more than JD500, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
