AMMAN — The Independent Election Commission (IEC) on Saturday launched a specialised training workshop titled “Empowering Women for Political Leadership and Electoral Participation,” with the participation of a group of female party leaders.
The first phase targets participants from the northern and central regions of the Kingdom, in cooperation with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, according to an IEC statement.
The three-day workshop is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the capacity of political parties and empower women to take on more effective leadership roles in political life.
The training programme covers a range of advanced topics, including political storytelling, transforming personal experience into tools for influence and mobilisation, as well as media training, public speaking skills, and building political and personal identity.
It also addresses digital reputation management, enhancing public presence, and the role of appearance, body language, and non-verbal communication in political work, in addition to strategies for expanding influence through network-building.
The workshop also explores pathways for women to reach leadership positions, the distinction between formal and informal power, decision-making processes, influence mapping, as well as strategies for managing election campaigns and building alliances.
The programme includes discussion sessions and practical exercises, along with the preparation of action plans to follow up on training outcomes, aiming to enhance women’s participation in political and party life across the Kingdom.
