Huneiti visits Royal Naval Force Command HQ

AMMAN — Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti was briefed on Saturday by Royal Naval Force Commander Col. Hisham Jarrah about its operational tasks and the progress in training and logistical programmes and future plans to bolster its defence capabilities.

During a visit to the Royal Naval Force Command headquarters, Huneiti took a tour aboard a combat boat in Jordanian territorial waters and had a firsthand look at the work mechanism of the naval force and the nature of its tasks to protect civil and military facilities in the Aqaba port.

The army chief conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, to naval force personnel, expressing his confidence in their efforts and praising the "distinguished level" of professionalism they achieved, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

COVID-19 infection among healthcare workers a work-related injury — SSC

 

AMMAN (JT) — COVID-19 infections among healthcare workers in hospitals and laboratories are work-related injury, the Social Security Corporation (SSC) announced on Saturday. As part of the SSC's commitment towards healthcare providers, who contract COVID-19 while on the job, the corporation will cover hospital costs of subscribers who work in private healthcare facilities and provide COVID-19 infected healthcare workers with daily sickness benefits, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Regarding COVID-19 infections among healthcare workers that result in partial or full disability, the SSC will pay a monthly salary for affected people. The SSC will grant the heirs of healthcare workers, who die of COVID-19, in private and public hospitals and laboratories, a monthly salary equal to 75 per cent of the subscriber's salary, Petra added.
