HPC attends workshop on composite indicators in population development

AMMAN — The Higher Population Council (HPC), represented by the council’s secretary-general and Arab Council for Population and Development Chairman Abla Amawi, participated in a workshop on the composite indicators related to population and development, which began on Monday with the organisation of the Arab League in Cairo.

Workshop activities will continue for two days with the participation of members of the Arab Council for Population and Development, according to an HPC statement.

The workshop aims to train participants in the methodology of producing composite indicators used for population measurement and development, methodological issues associated with building composite indicators and how Arab governments can benefit from the Population and Development Indicator in assessing the performance of population and development programmes, among others, the statement said.
