House speaker urges committees to accelerate bill discussions

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh on Tuesday met with heads of the Chamber’s committees, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Tarawneh stressed the importance of prioritising legislation referred to the House, especially bills related to citizens’ daily lives.

He urged MPs to accelerate the scrutiny of draft laws so as to be debated and endorsed during the current session. The speaker directed the House’s general secretariat to provide logistic support for the committees to be able to draft laws as swiftly as possible.
