House speaker meets with members of chambers of industry

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Abdulmunim Oddat on Saturday called for assess the industrial and commercial situation prior to preparing solutions necessary to serving the national economy and realising the comprehensive development.

During a meeting with head and members of the Jordan and Amman chambers of industry, Oddat praised the role of the industrial sector in covering the basic commodities of the public during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The speaker added that the Lower House is aware of the challenges facing the industrial sector as a result of the ongoing lockdowns and closures.

Fathi Jaghbir, head of the two chambers, said that the industrial sector forms some 25 per cent of GDP, stressing the need to find solutions to challenges facing the sector.
