AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi on Tuesday highlighted the importance of building upon the outcomes of the Jordanian-Egyptian-Iraqi summit that focused on enhancing economic, commercial and investment cooperation in a way that serves the interests of the three countries. During a meeting with Egyptian Ambassador to Jordan Mohammed Samir, Safadi stressed the "strong brotherly relations" between the Kingdom and Egypt, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The speaker said that parliaments are responsible for overcoming legislative obstacles to realise the goals of economic integration. He added that both countries have shared stances on various Arab issues, mainly the Palestinian cause, where Amman and Cairo both support Palestinians in their endeavours to obtain their legitimate rights and establish their independent state. Samir highlighted the importance of joint ventures between Jordan, Egypt and Iraq in light of difficult regional circumstances at the political and economic levels.
