AMMAN — Head of the Jordan-UK-Northern Ireland Parliamentary Friendship Committee MP Mohammad Saudi on Thursday discussed ways to enhance the two kingdoms’ relations in all fields.
Receiving a UK parliamentary delegation headed by MP Shailesh Vara, Saudi described bilateral relations as "longstanding and historic", that can be further developed in the economic and commercial fields, which would reflect "positively" on serving joint interests, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Saudi also highlighted Jordan's humanitarian efforts and role in hosting refugees and its impact on the Kingdom's economy.
He also stressed the need to enhance joint investments, increase volume of trade exchange, and remove obstacles to develop bilateral economic and trade relations.
The UK delegates expressed keenness to strengthen British-Jordanian relations, which date back hundreds of years ago, noting that the UK seeks to promote investment and develop renewable energy projects between the two countries.
The UK lawmakers also highlighted the importance of reaching peace in the Middle East, stressing Jordan's role in this regard.
