AMMAN — The Lower House on Sunday approved draft amendments to the Jordanian Civil Law and the Sharia Trials Law after their referral from the government in a session chaired by Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi and attended by Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The amendments aim to ease litigation and transaction procedures through implementing electronic procedures that eliminate the need for parties to a case to attend court. The amendments also allow the personnel of Sharia and public prosecution courts, as well as courts of arbitration and reconciliation offices, to use electronic methods in their work.
