AMMAN — The Higher Education Ministry was able to maintain its International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) accreditation "ISO9001:2015", a ministry statement said on Saturday.
The review of the ministry's documents by SGS Jordan — a branch of the original SGS company in Switzerland — showed that the ministry follows the proper quality management system and that, as of February of 2020, it is aligned with the organisation's standards, the statement said.
According to the statement, building a system for quality institutional development is one of the Higher Education Ministry's top goals and part of its strategic plan for 2019-2021.
The ministry obtained the ISO accreditation at the beginning of 2019.
At the time, the ministry held several workshops for its employees on the ISO9001:2015 accreditation to improve their skills and capabilities in accordance with the organisation's standards, with the aim of boosting overall performance.
SGS is "the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company", operating a network of more than 2,600 offices and laboratories around the world, according to the company's website.
