‘Health Ministry seeks to attract more psychiatrists to public sector’

AMMAN — The Health Ministry seeks to expand psychiatrists’ residency programmes to encourage them to join it and offset staff shortages at public hospitals and specialised centres, Health Minister Ali Hiasat said on Wednesday.
During a visit to the Karameh Centre for Rehabilitation and Psychotherapy, Hiasat voiced satisfaction with the general condition of the centre, calling for more efforts to serve its 150 patients.
