Health Ministry investigating Madaba illness

AMMAN — The Health Ministry has conducted tests in the town of Mleih in Madaba after several patients sought treatment at its health centre and at Princess Iman Hospital on Monday.

The ministry media centre said tests on drinking water sources showed that they were free of any contamination.

The ministry is still awaiting the results of tests on the patients to determine whether there is a common cause of the symptoms they suffered.

On Monday, 14 patients suffering from high temperature, diarrhoea and vomiting were admitted into hospital; four were discharged on Tuesday while the condition of the remaining was reported as fair.
