Health minister meets delegation from US Army Research Institute

AMMAN — Health Minister Feras Al Hawari on Sunday received a delegation from the US Army Research Institute and International Medical Research Centre and discussed means to develop cooperation.

During the meeting, Hawari stressed the ministry's desire to cooperate with the institute and the centre in combating communicable diseases within the one-health approach adopted by the ministry, in coordination with the World Health Organisation (WHO), the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

He expressed the ministry's interest in the policy of composite vaccines, which provide protection for many respiratory diseases to reduce their spread. The delegates reviewed top projects implemented by the US Army Research Institute on contagious and common diseases around the world.

After the meeting, the team visited the Directorate of Laboratories at the ministry and checked on the available equipment in these laboratories, which have developed significantly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
