Heads of Upper, Lower Houses receive HRW chief

AMMAN — Senate President Abdur-Ra’uf S. Rawabdeh on Sunday received Human Rights Watch CEO Kenneth Roth and reviewed the Kingdom’s national policies to serve human rights.
Rawabdeh called for accuracy when documenting human rights violations in the Kingdom, welcoming the reports of human rights organisations due to their importance in identifying shortcomings.
Also on Sunday, Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh met with Roth and reviewed comprehensive reforms Jordan has implemented despite difficult regional conditions.
Tarawneh also said the Kingdom respects public freedoms and human rights according to the Constitution and relevant laws.
