AMMAN — Head of the Jordan-European parliamentary committee Khaldoun Hayna on Thursday underlined the importance of Jordanian-Romanian relations and boosting them in various fields, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During a meeting with Romanian Ambassador Nicolae Comanescu, Hayna stressed the importance of the Hashemite custodianship over the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, and the unwavering Jordanian position towards the Palestinian cause, as well as the demand for a holistic solution.
He called for strengthening bilateral ties in various fields, especially in the parliamentary, agricultural and information technology sectors.
Comanescu said that his country supports the two-state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, stressing Romania's support for the Hashemite Custodianship over the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. He said: "Romania is a key partner and a strong supporter of Jordan's position regarding the Palestinian issue.
" The envoy also called for enhancing relations between the two countries, especially in the parliamentary, tourism, medical and higher education sectors.
