Hashemite Custodianship crucial in defending Jerusalem — Kanaan

AMMAN — Supporting the Hashemite Custodianship over Jerusalem's Islamic and Christian holy sites and scaling up media efforts are fundamental for defending Jerusalem, Secretary-General of Royal Committee for Jerusalem Affairs (RCJA) Abdullah Kanaan said on Thursday.

Kanaan said that daily Israeli violations and crimes against Jerusalemites, and the holy city's land and shrines require immediate response from the international community and regional organisations to uncover Israel's colonial practices and enhance the Palestinians' steadfastness, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

He expressed appreciation for the Executive Committee of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation's (OIC) decision affirming the Hashemite Custodianship and lauded the organisation's stances in support of the Palestinian cause.
