AMMAN — The Hajj Fund’s board of directors, headed by Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Abdul Nasser Abul Bassal, on Thursday reviewed and ratified the fund’s net profits for the year 2018, at JD4.32 million, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Abul Bassal said that the fund’s profits will be distributed between the Hajj Savers Fund and the secretaries of Hajj committees, noting that the Hajj Fund bears all its expenses and fees without receiving any support from the state budget.
The number of savers increased from 28,718 in 2017 to 34,522 in 2018, up 8 per cent, and the volume of savings increased from JD80,477,405 in 2017 to JD104,269,492 in 2018, approximately 7.7 per cent, he pointed out.
