Habbash meets with LH Palestine Parliamentary Committee

AMMAN — Chief Islamic Justice of Palestine and Adviser to the Palestinian President for Religious Affairs Mahmoud Habbash on Saturday met with the Palestine Parliamentary Committee, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During the meeting, taking place at the House of Representatives, Habbash affirmed that the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites preserved the Arab identity of Jerusalem.
Habbash lauded Jordan's stance, led by His Majesty King Abdullah, in defending Jerusalem and the Palestinian cause, highlighting His Majesty's efforts to protect the rights of Palestinians in all international forums.
He also extended appreciation to the Palestine Parliamentary Committee for defending the Palestinian cause.
In turn, the committee underlined the solidity of Jordanian-Palestinian relations, whose foundations were laid by His Majesty King Abdullah and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
The committee underlined the need to intensify efforts to end the Israeli occupation and establish an independent Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital.
